Exhibit at end of parade puts a face to those who sacrificed during wars

“Julia Schappals, the organizer, was inspired to do the exhibit by an old photograph of a friend of her father’s who was shot down over the Pacific Ocean in World War II. In the photograph, a smiling Wilfred “Bill” Sunday, a fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy, is crouching next to the cockpit of a P-38 Lightning. “One of the reasons I put this together was that this fellow’s sacrifice was incredibly profound but also invisible,” Schappals said.”
